Military 9x9 Command Post Tent.

Military 9x9 Command Post Tent.

I have a Military 9x9 Command Post Tent. It's just about the right size for one person to put up and stay in for a few days. However, having another person with you to get the canvas on the frame is a great help. It's heavy enough when dry, but when wet, it can be really heavy and an extra pair of hands certainly doesn't go amiss.

Here it is in action at the Woodland Caravan Park at Devil's Bridge, Wales.

Once a year, a member, Paul Bonham of the Land Rover Series 2 club, puts together a "Get Together" and several of us venture off to Wales. We set up camp and then go out and explore some Green Lanes. I have been with my Castleton Caravan and life is so much easier with the caravan. But, going from Northampton to Devil's Bridge is around 170 miles and is a tad far dragging a caravan. Taking the Tent is so much easier traveling, but it takes a lot longer setting up when you get there.

Here is inside a well set up 9x9.
Bed with dog.

Laycorn Box as storage and two ring cooker.

Table to eat off and TV and Fridge down the end.

The Landy is attached to the Tent.
Behind the chair is a Porta Potty for them night time visits.

How it all looks loaded up in the Landy.

On this particular site, I had plug-in electric which came in handy for an electric heater. I had it blowing on minimum for the whole night each night, which kept the chill off and leads to a good night's sleep. The electric was also good for the TV and fridge. The fridge does run off the gas as well, but as I had paid for hook-up electric, I used that. I take a Honda Generator for places with no Hook-up.

These two photos are from Pailton, Coventry.
It was taken at the Central Shires Area meet.

These two 9x9's belong to Suzanne and Shuey.
They've linked to two together with a tarpaulin and another 9x9 frame.
